Hacienda Del Marques

Marqués de Riscal

Reserva Herederos del Marques de Riscal Rioja Tempranillo 2020

Popped and poured; enjoyed over the course of an hour. The 2020 Reserva pours a deep ruby/purple with a near opaque core; medium+ viscosity with moderate staining of the tears. On the nose, the wine is developing with notes of ripe and tart dark fruits: blackberry, black cherry, toasted coconut, dill, vanilla, wood, and associated baking spices. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium+ tannin and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is medium+. Already balanced but the oak is playing a significant role at this stage (this is traditionally made Rioja Reserva we’re talking about). There is plenty of stuffing however and I expect this will become even more balanced with some time on its side. Want to see a wine under $20 that can age for 30 years? Welp, here you go. Drink now through 2050. — 7 days ago

NW. Still smooth. Bit more cherry and dark fruit coming through this, with still hints of vanilla and oak. Enjoyable drinking. — 9 months ago

Perfect with iberico. We all liked this. Tätä voisi juoda vaikka jouluna kinkun kanssa. — 2 years ago

Ceritas

Hacienda Secoya Vineyard Pinot Noir 2017

An unusually viscous body for a Ceritas wine. Enjoyable, but not my favorite. — 2 months ago

Hacienda Terra d'Uro

URO Toro Tempranillo 2019

Dark ruby purple. Abundant inviting nose of woody blueberry cobbler. Full-bodied palate confirms the nose with a bit of creme fraiche. Fine dusty tannins. Medium acidity. Long, luxurious, black velvet finish. Grilled or roasted meats are the friends of this big, dark Tempranillo. Lamb or game would work particularly well. Drink now through 2029 or beyond. — 10 months ago
