Vintage 2015 | Now I understand the reputation of the Doctor. Textbook Riesling. | One anecdote I never forgot. Michael Broadbent wrote that his honeymoon was to the Mosel. And one of his deepest wishes was to make love to his wife in the Doctor. He wrote it dry and witty, as only British could. Very credible. | paired with salmon and shiitake. — 6 months ago

Popped and poured; enjoyed over the course of a couple hours. The NV Grand Cru Brut Réserve pours a pale copper color with a persistent mousse. On the nose, the wine is developing with bright notes of raspberry, strawberry, white peach, lemon bar, almond and minerals. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose, the finish is medium+. Quite lovely stuff. Drink now. Disgorged March 2023 — 21 days ago
Just beautiful. It grows more amazing over time. Medium light viscosity. Starts with high acid, leather, grows to strawberry and red currant, ends with maple syrup. — 5 months ago
Love Spanish wine. Very bold with a very nice and consistent finish. — 6 years ago
Lightweight. Excellent. Terroir driven in a beautifully lifted and wonderfully friendly way. Feminine of cote rotie. Excellent food wine. — 6 years ago
Star bright pale straw. Honeysuckle and ripe peaches in the inviting nose. Bright acidity on the medium palate which confirms the nose with a slight hint of smoke. Finish is naturally lengthy given the richness. Classic Mosel Kabinett Riesling from a well established and highly regarded producer. Drink now through 2038 with almost any fare, pork being its natural match. — 19 days ago

Popped and poured; enjoyed over the course of dinner. The 2018 pours a slightly hazy purple color with an opaque core; medium viscosity with moderate staining of the tears and signs of some fine sediment. On the nose, the wine is developing with gorgeous notes of mixed brambles, figs, lavender, animale, bacon fat, black pepper, black olive brine, a touch of smoke and a winsome mix of cool and warm spices. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium+ tannin and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is long. Brilliant stuff from this overlooked producer and a delicious pairing with lamb and mendi rice. Drink now through 2043. Thanks for the assist @Lyle Fass — 8 days ago
