Disgorged 2017. My first time tasting the wine of the heir apparent. One attempts to taste without any preconceived expectations. Certainly did not have the same level of oxidative notes that are often found in his dad’s wine. The nose is filled with apples, peach and hazelnuts. My palate was swathed in peach and apricot, along with notes of red fruit. Good acidity but lacking in serious complexity at this stage. — 3 years ago
Very rich and ripe black and blue fruits with well integrated and amazingly soft tannins. Deep color between purple and ruby. Very long finish! — 3 months ago
Lighter medium body over pale burgundy color, with purple hues deeply embedded within. Took a while to open up, but once the nose started opening up the ripe red fruit, crunchy acidity and notes of bark, plum, leeks, and cracked pepper started to show. The palate is deep and old world, with hints of earth, smoke, even some BBQ sauce. Main palate is cranberry, tart cherry, and dark plum, with a LOT of energy and life, with some bramble, and really, this could age for another 40 years or more easy. — 5 months ago
Buttermilk & underripe mandarin on the nose with buttermilk again on the palette and riper mandarin juice, creamy but zingy at the end
