Gruner Veltliner Smaragd

Domäne Wachau

Terrassen Smaragd Grüner Veltliner 2013

Spicy with minerality. Paired well with our Thanksgiving turkey. Quoted by Manu. — 3 days ago

Loibner Loibenberg Smaragd Grüner Veltliner 2002

Really a fascinating wine. Medium amber in the glass. Quite “big”, even at “only” 13% abv. Rich smelling with apricot and honey. Completely dry, but with a slight impression of sweetness which is probably just the overall richness / unctuousness. Bittersweet finish - not in a bad way at all. Plenty of acid still to keep it together. Long finish. Quite nice. — a month ago

Fresh and vibrant. Crisp lemon. Wet straw. Goes down quick, be careful! Excellent for the price. — a month ago

Wachstum Bodenstein Smaragd Grüner Veltliner 2018

Outstanding. One of the best gruners in recent memory. Layered and rich, but subtle at the same time. Beautiful wine. — 7 days ago

Loibenberg Smaragd Grüner Veltliner 2018

Green green green but fleshy and ripe. Smell a little bit like smarties- fruity and sour but not that sweet ultimately. — a month ago

Loibner Kreutles Smaragd Grüner Veltliner 2013

A Grüner with some age is a lovely thing. The wine's fruit takes a backseat to petrol, spice, and oxidative notes. — a month ago

Such a nice Gruner. This has aged nicely too. Nice sweetness with a good hint of acidity. — a month ago

Shows more complexity and concentration than most Gruner Veltliners, with brighter acidities. Devoid of any hint of mechanical quality many Whites from Austria/Alto Adige suffer from. Might not have the reserve power to go long distance. — 7 days ago

Valle Isarco Grüner Veltliner

Great Gruner for the price. Bright nose with mineral and notes of citrus. Acid and citrus bomb on the mouth. Went ok with our homemade chicken noodle soup. Just a touch too much acid to pair really well. — 21 days ago
