Grey Lady

Grey Stack Cellars

Four Brothers Vineyard Pinot Noir 2015

This wine is aging gracefully. Secondary and tertiary notes coming to the fore. Floral/spicy nose that is so fragrant. The cherry has turned dark, supported by more spice, clove, cinnamon. Truly an excellent wine. — 2 months ago

The Blue Lady Cabernet Sauvignon 2020

January 2024. Just received 4 bottles, couldn’t wait to taste. Although young, this is a beautiful, complex, full bodied wine. What Jakob said about the 2017, below. Drinks well now. Hoping to wait a few years to see how it develops. — 10 months ago

Glenelly Estate

Lady May Cabernet Sauvignon Petit Verdot 2017

Dark and brooding, the flagship 2017 Lady May from Glenelly is effusive from the first pour, with aromas of black cherry, purple herbs, baking spice and chocolate. The palate is distinctly savoury, with a spicy quality that represents quite a contrast from prior vintages. This is an altogether quite serious offering and perhaps lacks the glossy suave character of, say, the 2015, which I prefer at this stage. But this should be absolutely fantastic in around 5-10 years’ time and I can’t wait to try it again. — a month ago

Ad Vinum

Sleeping Lady Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon 2016

It is time for my #FridayCabernetfix.

Dark ruby in color with a short reddish rim.

Fruity nose of cedar, herbs, tobacco leaf, herbs, black currants, black plums, cooked cherries, spices, vanilla, licorice, cloves, mint, black pepper and light earth.

Full-bodied with medium acidity.

Dry on the palate with black currants, black plums, blackberries, cedar, vanilla, spices, espresso, cola, light herbs, earth, chocolates, tobacco leaf and peppercorn.

Long finish with fine grained tannins and tangy cherries.

This 8 year old Cabernet Sauvignon from Napa Valley is already gorgeous, although still young.

Showing nice complexity with a nice mouthfeel. Spicy and entertaining.

The 2016 was a great vintage, and it is showing. This Single Vineyard cabernet will continue to age nicely in the next 10 to 15 years.

Good right out of the bottle, and better with airtime.

Robert Parker 97 points. Wine Enthusiasts 96 points.

I've had a few vintages of this wine, and it always delivers.

Thank you Barry for sharing this with me.

Good by itself as a sipping wine, and will pair nicely with BBQ Meats. I paired it beef brisket.

100% Cabernet Sauvignon grapes were aged in (65% new) French oak barrels for 18 months.

14.7% alcohol by volume

94 points.
