12 Meses Silver Label Jumilla Monastrell 1916

Mmmm - delicious! Quite full bodied with a deep ruby red color. Enjoyed with red meat and all by itself. Flavors of blackberry, plum and dark cherry. — 3 days ago

BLUE LABEL Monastrell Blend 2019

Began 1916, when Juan Gil Giménez, great-grandfather of the present generation, built a winery in heart of Jumilla. Blue label spent 18 months in new French and American oak barrels. Monastrell, Cab Sauv & Syrah blend (60/30/10), low yield, aromas of red berry and toasty oak. Palate shows flavors of dark berry fruits, espresso, cacao and hints of sweet spice. Round dusty tannins, well integrated with oak, medium+ finish ending with fruit and rich earthy oaky character. Nice! — 3 years ago

Clos Fontà Priorat Grenache Blend 2016

2016 vintage. Last tasted 11.06.24 (9.2). This has come together a bit more since then. One thing I can tell you is you got to be free. Showy dark cherry and oak marriage with spices aplenty. Medium body alongside respectable mojo filter tannins. Fun and built for speed. 08.14.25. — 4 months ago

Sounds like one spinal cracker of a wine!

Far Niente Winery

Napa Valley Chardonnay 2019

1 of CA's oldest wineries, Far Niente, founded 1885 by John Benson. Winery flourished until Prohibition, when it was abandoned & fell into complete disrepair. Stately stone shell of a winery purchased in 1979 by Gil Nickel. A big wine! Tropical and stone fruit aromas with complex spice and oak notes. On the palate apple, peach and citrus flavors, creamy, with buttery toasty oak, fig/honey tones. Long finish ending with vibrant acidity & mineral character. Consistent. — 7 months ago
