Lemon and oak in balance, so best of California style (though not clean and fresh as you find in French style). At 5+ years old, will continue to age well though fine for drinking now. February 2025. — 3 months ago

Like this better than some more expensive bottles that taste like they contain granulated sugar! Nice bottle. Not much time on the palate, but OK, I will drink faster! — 4 months ago
DEEP red color, almost black and non-see-through. Big fruit forward nose, jammy dark ripe fruits, with hints of blood orange and violet peppered in. A big fruit palate with hints of graphite, vanilla and wood, with tight tannins that hang on and don’t let you forget, with a lithe, tight acidity that shows that it still needs some time to reach its peak, despite the pedigree. This is a prime example of modern Napa cab, dry but fruity, but bombs, American as hell, distinctive and brash, and not ready to play on the big stage, but lots of potential. — 2 months ago
The nose shows black cherry, cassis, sandalwood, baking spices, and just hint of green bell pepper. Ripe and juicy on the palate leaning towards a bit jammy, but there is sufficient acidic lift. Silky tannins. Long candied finishes.
I really like The Prisoner wines, and this is no exception. Have a good 8-10 years ahead. — 3 months ago
