Showing more new world in this warmer vintage. Aromas of ripe red fruits - mainly strawberries. The palate showing those ripe fruits typical of the vintage. Needs more cellar time to show its best. 50 % Nebbiolo and 50 % Pinot Noir from calcareous and poor soils in Roddino where Barolo area meets Alta Langa.
Vines struggle to dig deep.
Produced in Rose de Saginee method and left on skins for up to 12 hours.
All hand harvested.
Salmon coloured. Cherries and berries, toasted nuts and hibiscus. Crisp and dry, persistent mousse and almost a saline quality on the finish. — 6 months ago

Last bottle 😭 It’s been 2 years since I drank this, and it was exactly this time of year. Terrific red for the end of winter. Substantial body and warmth, but also carries a fruity freshness and lightness. Strawberry, red licorice, baking spices and fresh herbs. Give it plenty of air. 2022. Young and very fruit forward. Tannins are fairly smooth and acidity not overwhelming. It would be hard for me to say Nebbiolo vs Dolcetto (and it should be clearer), but it paired so well with Andy’s Pizza 🍕! — 8 days ago

Brilliant, shiny ruby red.
Bright wild raspberries and cherries with dried flowers, menthol and Kirsch.
Hints of truffles and pepper. Super crisp tannins and acidity for days from this medium bodied wine.

Very Deep Ruby color with a bouquet of fruit, earthy herbs, tobacco, spice and floral notes. On the palate flavors of black cherry and raspberry with notes of herb pepper, floral, clove and earthy notes. Long finish, good balance with fine tannins ending with cacao, tobacco, fruit, spice and earthy nutty notes. Organic! — 15 days ago

Popped and poured; enjoyed over the course of dinner. The 2009 Cerretta pours a deep garnet color with a transparent core; medium+ viscosity with no staining of the tears and a significant amount of sediment. On the nose, the wine is vinous with notes of ripe and dried fruits: Morello cherry, desiccated strawberry, tar, truffles, espresso, well oiled leather, cedar and organic earth. On the palate, the wine is dry with high tannin and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is medium+. This is an intense representation of a solar vintage that probably would appreciate more air than I gave it. In the future, I would decant for sediment and allow more time to track the wine’s development throughout the evening. A lovely expression of 2009 Barolo entering into its fully mature window. Bert’s June wine tasting - this has a nice flavor - unpacked and it’s a blend. The vineyard was Luigi Baidana and he sold his vineyard to this vineyard who makes borolo and makes wine the way he did rather than selling to rich folks who just wanted his property. — 3 months ago
