Excellent Chianti; perfectly balance between dry and fruit with no alcohol or unpleasant finish; on the contrary, a very smooth sip — 4 months ago
Best wine on our Princess NYE cruise. — 5 months ago
Powerful aroma including cassis blackberry and cherry, oak vanilla. Chalk mineral. 30 min, much better, but not necessary for deep decanting. Almost 2019 Lucente 21 @6500, Bic - Oren I G, 250922-250924 — 9 months ago

This ages so well. A balance of mature and fresh: cigars, tomato leaf, eggplant (first time I think I ever said that!), cassis.
Finely structured tannins, the acids have mellowed a little but still very present.

Good Chianti but expensive given its quality. Dark and heavy Chianti with an astringent bite to finish. — 6 months ago
Sadly This is no longer Trebbiano and Malvasia. Now it's 90% Chard and 10 % Pinot Grigio.. The Frescobaldi house pulled out all of their Malvasia and Trebbiano due to climate change (and Pomino is among the highest altitude growing regions of Tuscany) - and replaced those vines with these more hardy and more boring varieties.
Interesting that they kept the same exact name and label, but I guess it's all still accurate?
This also very sadly means no more Vin Santo.

This Italian white has a most interesting presence in the glass. The pale yellow liquid has a nose which is quite herbaceous, showing notes of sage, anise and oregano. The palate brings forth some citrus fruit - Meyer lemon - and a boatload of minerals and salinity. There is quite a racy acidity, too. Like a good Vermentino should, the wine leaves a sense of the seashore on the finish. — 4 years ago

Tuscan Villa on the label. Looks opulent. Wine is a pretty color. Garnet. Aroma is rose hip tea, hibiscus drinks and damask rose. Flavors are nice. Floral and sensuous. Maybe a bit flinty. Fruit driven, but not sweet. Cherry pits. Hint of Russian black currant and cherry flavored tea. Nice cedar streak. Hint of fresh ground pepper corns. This has character. It’s a great deal for such a defined Sangiovese. — 24 days ago
