Freakshow Lodi Red Blend 2020

The 2020 vintage of Michael David Freak Show is a blend for everyday drinking. A blend of Syrah (appx 54%), Petite Sirah (appx 42%) and Souzao (appx 4%), it is a balanced, fruit-forward red wine with notes of dark berries and plum. Although it does not provide the complexity and tannic structure of a Napa or Sonoma Cabernet, neither does it come with the same price tag.

I recommend this wine, but just find the circus-themed bottle label a little freaky.

Symphony

An old standard in our household. Velvety smooth, rich juicy berries. Glad we can purchase Freakshow even at Costco in TX and have a solid, boozy Cab at the ready. — 5 years ago

Lodi Chardonnay 2018

2018 bottle has a smaller label but the bottle itself is embossed with the Michael David name.
I prefer their Freakshow Chardonnay because it's less oaky, but that's just personal preference.
A beautiful example of classically delicious Chardonnay

Freakshow Lodi Chardonnay 2022

I'm not typically a chardonnay fan, so take this rating with a grain of salt. I probably like this because it isn't horribly oaky. — a year ago

Freakshow Goddess of the Sea Lodi Chardonnay 2018

Fresh, fruity but not overpoweringly sweet. Apricot notes. I had it chilled on its own and with food. Perfect for summer and hot weather. — 6 years ago

Freakshow Lodi Zinfandel 2019

Not as full-bodied as I usually like my Zinfandels, but still very drinkable. Lots of great flavors and held up very well with a rich beef meal. Notes of juicy, ripe black berries and a hint of cigar smoke. — 7 months ago

“San Bartolomeo” Sizzano DOC Riserva Nebbiolo Blend 2013

Okay this is awesome. Old school. Cigar, Cuban tobacco, chestnut, tar, dead roses, so so so Nebbiolo. The high toned aromas are just stunning. Really wafts. It’s old school but super clean. Pop and pour and the aromas just kill! Wow. Wow. Palate is just gorgeous. Astonishing purity and freshness and oodles of mid season ripe cherries and wonderful opulence. Superb juiciness. Like 10/10 juiciness. Lovely velvety tannins and such a long juicy finish. So so pure. This is a freakshow. — 6 years ago
