Light garnet dress, nice shine. Superb fine nose: strawberry, raspberry, pepper, sweet spices, aerial and floral shades with character. Nose that pinote. Structured and light mouth, medium + acidity, absolutely ready to drink. Semi-light body, paradoxical with chew, and delicate tannins. Endelived, charming, discreetly long finish between raspberry, pepper, spices and blood orange (?) A fine price/pleasure ratio to have in the cellar, in the light-bodied category.

Robe grenat légère, bel éclat. Nez superbe, fraise, framboise, poivre, épices douces, nuances aériennes et florales avec du caractère. Nez qui pinote. Bouche structurée et légère, acidité moyen +, absolument prêt à boire. Corps demi-léger, paradoxal avec de la matière, et des tanins délicats. Finale friande, charmeuse, discrètement longue entre framboise, poivre, épices et orange sanguine (?) Un fin rapport prix/plaisir à avoir en cave, dans la catégorie light-bodied. — 3 years ago

Simple, light, but full of charm. Clear purple dress, beautiful shine. Nose typical of the cabernets-francs de Loire. Raspberry, geranium, violet, blackwood, green pepper (but not too much). The mouth is fresh and tense, with a beautiful mineral weft reminiscent of rifle stone, slate or chalk. Served at 15 degrees, it’s a nice treat.

Saumur simple, léger, mais plein de charme. Robe pourpre limpide, bel éclat. Nez typique des cabernets-francs de Loire. Framboise, géranium, violette, bois de ronce, poivron vert (mais pas trop). La bouche est fraîche et tendue, avec une belle trame minérale évoquant la pierre à fusil, ardoise ou craie. Servi à 15 degrés c’est une belle gourmandise. — 5 years ago

Tasted at the producer, this is a primeur / pleasure to drink young vintage. 100% Cabernet-Franc. Light purple color, clear and limpid. Raspberry and herbaceous nose. Supple mouth blending raspberry, notes of cedar, cypress.
Slightly acidity, but the typical Touraine mineral structure, reminiscent of slate, pencil lead, or charcoal, bringing a refreshing salivating tension. On salads, aperitif-dinners, cold meats, cheese pastas, it's easy to drink, and pleasant.

Goûté chez le producteur, c’est une cuvée primeur/plaisir à boire jeune. 100% Cabernet-Franc. Robe pourpre légère, claire et limpide. Nez framboise et herbacé. Bouche souple mêlant, framboise, notes de cèdres, cyprès.
Acidité peu marquée mais la trame minérales typique de la Touraine, évoquant l’ardoise, la mine de crayon, ou le charbon, apportant une tension salivante rafraîchissante. Sur des salades, apéro-dînatoire, charcuterie, pastas fromage, c’est facile à boire, et plaisant. — 6 years ago

Between partial carbonic maceration and oak aging. The perfect expression of Beaujolais-bourguignon gamay. Airy and concentrated mouth, red fruits (strawberry, raspberry, cherry), gourmet bubble gum, even regressive. More serious spicy notes perfectly balance the bouquet, linked by herbal peppery notes. One of the basics to me. Exactly the kind of wine you find as a buddy.

Entre macération carbonique partielle et élevage en fût. L’expression parfaite du gamay Beaujolais-bourguignon. Bouche aérienne et concentrée, fruits rouges (fraise, framboise, cerise), bubble-gum gourmand, voir régressif. Des notes plus sérieuses épicées équilibrent parfaitement le bouquet, liaison générale constituées par les notes herbacées et poivrées. L’un des fondamentaux. The standard with cantillon. This is worth trying just for the nose. It explodes out of the glass. Perfume, raspberries, cherries, cream, insane. Palate coats every taste buds with fruit, sour lemonheads, just an crazy amount of raspberry and cherry flavor. Also some forest. Unbelievable. — 5 years ago

Blackberry, cocoa powder and grilled meats on the nose. Deep purple in the glass with long legs. Purple and blue fruits are quite prominent, finishing with framboise and just enough tannins to balance out the fruit. Definitely made for food. — 6 years ago

Falling in love with this wine again. It was brilliant a few years ago, and I was worried it could be at peak now, but 9 years of age and still going strong!  This is surely one of the best values I have ever found @ €6 during Paris foire du Vin. Easily could fetch €60+ in a different bottle. Undergrowth and oak influence is strong and balanced. I feel like you can almost taste the earthy terroir's influence.  Notes of 🍒, cassis, framboise. Thick, medium to full bodied and solid acidity. Potential for aging a bit more.  — 7 years ago

Second tasting one year apart.. still as charming. Raspberry colour, unfiltered. In addition to the varietal notes, the bouquet tends towards the peppery herbs, between tea, vetiver, rose, dried herbs. As the wine opens, notes of blood orange, or sangria, develop giving energy to the whole. The tannins are very fine but persistent, with chew. We would drink it from breakfast.

Deuxième dégustation à un an d’intervalle.. toujours aussi charmant. Robe framboise, non filtré. Outre les notes variétales, le bouquet tend vers le végétal poivré, entre thé, vétiver, rose, herbes séchées. A mesure que le vin s’ouvre, des notes d’orange sanguine, ou sangria se développent donnant du tonus à l’ensemble. Les tanins sont très fin mais persistants, avec de la mâche. On en boirait dès le petit déjeuner. — 3 years ago

Such a great value (and Calatayud generally is a wildly underrated region for Grenache). Nose has concentrated essence of framboise ooze, along with a bit of spice and crushed rock dust. On the palate, it’s got dense flavor concentration, very pure fruit, nice acids (especially for a Grenache), and a bit of dusty tannins. So good. Should have gotten a case. — 4 years ago

The elegant side of gamay. At the same time light, and with many shades. Rich notes of raspberry, floral, herbaceous etc. 2017 is beautiful and can still deliver beautiful surprises in the coming years. Magnum format ideal, for parties with friends.
