Alentejano White Blend 2018

2018 vintage. White Alentejo blend (Roupeiro, Rabo de Ovelha, Antao Vaz, Tamarez, Alicante Branco and Arinto) by winemakers António Maçanita and Sandra Sarria. Old vines, whole bunch fermentation, no malolactic. Bright yellow. Spicy and floral with power and some complexity. Authentic and very good value. — 4 years ago

Reserva Palpite Alentejano Red Blend 2020

chaotic but cheerful day with the kids while the missus is vacationing with a friend.
without much thought i automatically opened the red bottle in the wine fridge come evening.
blind i wasn't so sure. great strong acidity, dark fruits, coffee and spices.
felt italian, with Spanish-ness confusing me. 🇵🇹 it is.

medium + body
great acidity makes it so juicy.
tannins are actively present but integrated in a lovely way.

i had some azorians whites of antonio macanita, they were intresting. this one is intresting with emphasis on greatness.
probably a bit too young but still a great gift at the end if a hard fulfilling day.

'Baga ao Sol' Unoaked Vinho Regional Alentejano 2018

Interesting wine from the late-ripening Baga grape. Not as tannic and austere as I thought but quite elegant, with high acids, small red berries, and some saltiness. Excellent. — 4 years ago
