... and then there was dinner. Grilled balsamic / soy marinated skirt steak, roasted and herbed baby bell peppers, and grilled ciabatta, paired with Zuccardi’s, Concreto, Malbec from Valle de Uco, Mendoza, Argentina. Delish!!!! Vintage 2017. ABV 14%.
To start, as noted, the Ruinart! Paired with ribboned cantaloupe, sugar snap pea, ricotta, and tarragon salad. 💕 — 3 days ago
This wine has a label full of technical information, but it’s just delicious. They talk about a wine that drinks like twice the price, and this could be one. Lots of fruit and floral flavors are held up by well-developed tannins (decant this puppy; even after 8 years it was a little tight). Food friendly acidity with a mountain stone tang underneath. Yum. Balanced an assertive Dijon cognac beef stew, but played well with the entire meal. — 23 days ago
Very nice, solid red. Absolutely would buy again. Better with a long breath. — 17 days ago
I drink so much of this and rarely post a review with notes. This is our go-to regular Rioja. We are lucky that our local wine store gets a lot and sells it well below Total Wine's price.
Deep ruby. Red cherry, blackberry, vanilla, and earth on both nose and palate. Dry, medium acidity, medium + alcohol, full-bodied, medium + tannins. Can age or great now.

Intensive red. Red fruits, intense. Chocolate, and tabaco notes. Complex, rich. Long bouquet. — 24 days ago
Lots of dark fruit flavours, mostly dried cherries, with hints of liquorice and some vanilla. Very savoury with some minerality. Went very well with herby lamb. — 10 days ago
Explore Rioja Reds class! Super ripe blackberries on the nose and palate; you taste what you smell with this wine. Super fresh, 'fleshiness" on the palate. An easy happy drinker. — 2 days ago
