Dark rubi robe, nose of dark fruits and stems, top soil. Very elegant in the mouth with dark berries, a hint of spices and a stemmy register that is probably… from stems. Good stuff in a mature style. We liked it a lot. — 9 months ago
WotN. Kept coming back to this textbook Meursault perfect with spiny lobster. — a year ago
Saumur cab franc that drinks more like a Sauvignon- it’s powerful, builds intensity, & linear somehow even though it maintains it’s light/medium body. What a find. Never heard of producer. Mature raspberries, blackberries & just a balanced purity of fruit that hooked me. curiously devoid of those pencil shavings or green notes typical in cab franc. For about 17$ an outrageous value & can’t wait to try their more expensive cuvées. — 3 years ago

Vintage 2012 | 5 hours decant, the wine gives a lot of cassis and cherries in smell, laurel, silky taste with beautiful balance. Made of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. Vieilles vignes. Vigneron Fabien Lalanne. Good effort. Paired with grilled entrecôte and vegetables. — 4 years ago
This was absolutely fantastic. Every once in a while, Adam Tolmach and Fabien Castel cull away a few barrels of something for these Special Bottlings. Bought this at the winery a number of years ago, and it is awesome. A totally underrated winery in my opinion, I’d put this version of grenache up against pretty much anything coming out of CA (or southern Rhone, for that matter). Adam used to get criticized years ago because he left his grapes on the vine “too long”, and now he gets grief for picking too early. I think he does it just right. His wines have terrific fruit and great acidity that are perfectly in balance yet provide for fantastic aging potential. Great stuff, with an even better QPR. If you can get your hands on this specific wine, though, do yourself a favor and snag it! — 5 years ago
