Wow. Can’t decide if this is plain dark or totally evil. Nose is dense blackberry and licorice flower. Almost sagrantinoey But it has a lovely sweetness. Palate is dark fruits. A bit of licorice. Mineral. Almost a hint of spicy mineral with a pleasant balancing hint of bitterness. The wine is on the sledgehammer side a bit so you have to be prepared for that. There is some brightness but it’s more In the background. As it opens some lovely licorice flower on the finish. Slightly pleasantly grippy texture. Not typical bojo gamay. But this has a place in a cellar. It’s a great example of what it is. Perhaps the only example of what it is. — 5 years ago

This is like, “the occult” of the wine world, Pinot Noir’s evil twin, per se. The color is medium, not pale ruby. The nose has pronounced notes of roses, red cherry, cranberry, hints of wet leaves and leather… on the palate the wine is dry, medium alcohol, highly tannic, highly acidic, and full bodied. You perceive moderate flavours of ripe red cherry, some spice even, somewhat round with a long complex finish. One of the most interesting wines I’ve ever, ever, ever ever ever, tested. I could keep going about this wine but ultimately, you just got to try it. Cheers. — a year ago
If Burgundy is the pennacle of Pinot Noir… Pinot Noir by the creator of Sassicaia from The Argentine Patagonia is its evil twin… That is what’s in my glass. This is the entry level 2014 and it is mirroring some of the Premier Cru Burgundy’s I’ve tried in the past... Cheers! — a year ago
This was so surprising and good from Tank Garage. I love their winery for the fun atmosphere, customer service and wine labels....but this is a legitimate Napa Valley Cab blend! I wish I would have bought a case. 89% cab, 7% merlot, 4% petit Verdot. Huge body, rich, earthy finish, no acidity lower tannins. Wow. Good job Tank Garage! — 5 years ago

This freak show of a wine I have a soft spot for. Pure Tintillia from Molise. The nose is just crazy. Nuts, anise, blackberry syrup and fresh blackberries. So much to the aromas. They are so present. Not wispy. Mean, evil aromas. But you cannot look away. Pasolini liquified. Rich but fresh and has so much energy. Velvety tannins that gain substance with air. Chewy and dense but also somewhat light on its feet. Long finish and very fresh. Really intense. But also elegant. A wine of contrasts. Let’s see what air does. But a great wine despite my meandering review. — a year ago
