Ginestra 'Vigna Casa Maté' Barolo Nebbiolo 2006

Darker and more virile than the 2007 enjoyed 2 months ago. Tannins also more bitter. Sour cherry Grasso signature and good overall roundness. Needs at least a few more years in the cellar. — 14 days ago

Tasmorcan Barbera d'Asti 2018

Jammy, but a little chalk, vine, and light tannin to hold it together. Probably my taste changing, but a little sweet, if clean, overall. — 10 days ago

Bricco Luciani Barolo Nebbiolo 2007

Earthy, elegant single-vineyard Barolo from the Bricco Luciani vineyard (in Piemontese dialect, bricco is the top of a hill, the portion with maximum sunshine) in Annunziata hamlet, to the west of La Morra, an area known for a lighter, more aromatic, approachable style. Crimson with orange hue at the rim of the glass. Brooding cherry. Subtly perfumed with notes tar, dark spice and licorice characteristic of the Nebbiolo grape and maybe hints of sloe (pacharán liquor). Long, sandy tannins. Intense — 20 days ago

Langhe Nebbiolo 2017

Very nice wine but certainly some serious tannins on it. Quite a traditional langhe nebbiolo. With an hour plus decant this is very good - but would love to try in a couple years. Excellent quality for price. Dark cherry, some earthy notes, good acid, great mouthfeel. Definitely one for food. Would definitely be 9.0-9.2 with a couple years. — 9 days ago

Gavarini Langhe Nebbiolo 2018

Covid. Light color, Med tannins (not as strong for Nebbiolo). Good acidity. Strawberry/raspberry. — a month ago

Barbera d' Alba Superiore 2017

Felt a bit like smelling Nebbiolo. Lots of roses & tar aromatics. Darker fruited to be sure, well structured and more complex than many bottles of Barbera. I tend to love this grape with a variety of different food and this bottle is an excellent example of bright dark cherry and a juicy finish. — 2 months ago
