Tablas Creek Vineyard

Patelin de Tablas Blanc White Blend 2018

Delectable Wine

This exuberant, eclectic blend of white Rhône varieties delivers ripe melon and pit fruit qualities along with energizing floral, mineral and spice flourishes. It shows silky texture, sharp delineation and impressive, floral-driven persistence. Pair it with rich grilled seafood dishes. $25.00 (Josh Raynolds, Vinous, January 2020) — 17 days ago

Touriga Nacional Rosé 2018

Red Cap Vineyards

Howell Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon 2007

Wow. This wine is READY. Pours very dark into the glass. Thick meniscus. Nose that is intense: blackberry, blueberry, pencil shavings, roasted almonds, oregano. Enters with ripe blackberries and blueberry pie immediately up front. Middle of roasted coffee bean, herbs, roasted almonds, mint, black tea. Very eclectic and powerful. Finishes with a graphite chalkiness and powerful and mostly blueberry finish with black pepper. Tannins are still quite grippy, although I imagine the edges were more jagged on this one 5 years ago. WOW. Drink. Now. !! — 10 months ago

Absolutely @Shay A ... Whenever I have the chance to experience these, I wonder why I did not buy more! But that already gets me in trouble enough, so ...... :)

Far Niente Winery

Napa Valley Chardonnay 2017

Dining at Lago at Bellagio. Despite an eclectic tapas menu inclusive of bruschetta, caprese salad, tenderloin with peppercorn sauce, and linguine al pesto, this wine was a perfect choice. Fuller-bodied without being overpowering; slightly oaky with a nice minerality. — 3 months ago

Cuvée 113 White Blend 2017

Hungarian Dry White chosen by daughter Georgie. An eclectic blend of Furmint, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc and 2 unspellable Hungarian varieties. Pale lemon in colour. A palate like so many of the European Whites I have had on this trip to the UK. Medium bodied with M plus intensity. Notes of Peach and Pear on the palate with low acid. Thoroughly delicious. — 6 months ago

Arbe Garbe

Catie’s Corner Vineyard, Tanya’s Vineyard and Pagani Ranch Malvasia Bianca Blend 2017

55% Catie’s Corner Vineyard Malvasia Bianca RRV, 30% Tanya’s Vineyard Ribolla Gialla, RRV, and 15% Pagani Ranch old vine Tocai Friulano. Probably one of the more eclectic blends I have ever experienced. The nose of this wine is unique. Getting cumin, Italian herbs, some white flowers and...huh? Did I get shallots? (Dinner didn't have shallots...). Entry and middle is softer than I thought. Acidity is definitely here but there is some grapefruit here, kiwi, dried herbs. More of a lemon zest and a minerality appeared on the finish. This wine was pretty boring on day 1. Most was recorked and enjoyed tonight. I really think this could hold for 3 to 5 years, possibly longer. Eclectic experience right up my alley! — 8 months ago

@Mark Flesher I've had a couple Arbe Garde bottles, not posted, but do remember the Benandants bottle (100% Malvasia Bianca, I think) with fondness, it was cool stuff. Also a white blend, maybe this same bottle, don't recall.

Vine Hill Vineyard Chardonnay 2004

Nice piece of Napa history went down tonight to celebrate the upcoming 15th anniversary at Folly Beach SC. Herbal nose. Aged yellow fruit. Poured medium to dark amber color into the glass. An hour gave this one more aromatics. Cashews, peanuts, rosemary, overripe yellow fruits. The entry was surprisingly dense and full bodied. Palate rather equal to the nose. Finishes with a little more acidity than I thought it would. Went well with an eclectic group of tacos which brought out a kinds of things here. — 3 months ago

Spicy aroma then eclectic blend of light fruits, pomegranate, green apple, apricot, raspberry. The finish is smooth with a final tartness. — 10 months ago

Bianco Breg Anfora Venezia Giulia White Blend 2006

Burnished red copper in colour. A natural orange wine fermented on skins in clay amphorae in Friuli. An eclectic white blend of Chardonnay Sauvignon Blanc Pinot Grigio and Riesling fermented separately and aged together. Oxidative notes. On the palate very textural and full bodied with Quince and dried Apricot notes. Quite tannic for a white wine. Amazing intensity of flavour - probably too much. A challenging wine and to be honest an acquired taste. I have one left from 2006 which I will have in a few years. — a year ago
