Carneros Pinot. Sweet fruit nose. Medium high tannin/acid.
Nice finish — 3 years ago
Donum, magnum, 2012 is a limited edition produced from their three finest blocks; once and only bottle named the “1870.” A nice ruby red with definite signs of bricking giving it an amber like color. Cherry-raspberry fruit jumps from the glass with scents of floral, spice, a pine forest floor, vanilla and sandal-wood cedar with a lingering smokiness at the end giving the pinot a well rounded nose. Taste - cherry, blackberry and raspberry fruit flavors, pepper and tea spices with subtle anise and a licorice earthy medium finish. Tannins are still present but blended. Be interesting to see how it opens up throughout the evening. — 4 years ago

Color: very deep red garnet with no sediments. Dark cherry plum floral and cream vanilla nose, with floating scents of spice and very subtle cedar. Taste — dark cherry cola hits the pallet with a bang—luscious and bold! Mid pallet brings out the spices and cream vanilla flavors with a long chocolate espresso finish. A nice structure and could lay down for awhile still. A favorite Pinot of mine! — 4 years ago

Happy New Year Delectable!
It's a pinot noir new year (Clos De La Roche, Donum west slope pinot, Schramsberg blanc de noir) with an oven roasted chicken dinner!
Double decant and pour the Clos de la Roche. A formidable medium ruby red color. On the nose: spicy cherry, forest floor, slight menthol, raspberry, mushrooms. Taste: smooth, creamy, lush, structured wine with cherry, gamey, minerals, and a spiced strawberry medium plus dry still some tannins kicking finish. Nice start to the night. Cheers! — 3 years ago
