Decanted for 3 hours before trying it. Medium garnet color with an almost brick colored edge. Excellent aromas of dark fruit and baking spices. Great tastes of blueberries, black plums, and blackberries with some interesting notes of dried fruit and leather. Excellently integrated fruit, tannins and acidity. Super sleek tannins and a medium length finish. Paired very well with pork tenderloin tonight. — 2 months ago
A new experience for us tonight. A 34 year old C-D-P to celebrate our 36 year anniversary. Beautiful old red/orange color from the glass. Dried fruit and herbs, licorice and wet flint on the nose. Flavors of dried red plums and cherries, licorice , herbs and some earthiness. Still showing a slight tannic backbone. A nice long finish. — 4 months ago
Medium ruby color. Baking spices and blue fruit on the nose. Excellent flavors of cassis, dark plums and blueberries. Super sleek tannins and juicy acidity lead to a really nice finish showing tastes of root beer and blackberries. Very interesting wine that probably continues to improve over the next 5 to 10 years. — a month ago
Enjoying a very nice Rioja tonight. Deep ruby color. Medium intensity nose with notes of red plums, coffee and a little bit of road tar. Great flavors of dark fruit, chocolate covered cherries, cola, and a hint of licorice. Medium acidity and medium tannins. Very nicely integrated and a very nice finish with a very slight hint of mint. — 3 months ago
Drinking a Napa Valley icon tonight! A deep ruby color with medium intensity notes of dark fruit and baking spices on the nose. Beautiful tastes of blackberry jam, black cherries, blueberries, vanilla, dark chocolate and cinnamon. Fantastically integrated wine with silky smooth sweet tannins, perfectly ripe fruit and outstanding acidity. A long, fruity finish with a little tannic mouthfeel at the end that says this wine is still very young and could be even better 25 or more years from now. WOW! — 3 months ago
Unreal dark butterscotch or honey color. Marcona almonds and honeycomb on the nose with a very slight hint of citrus. I don’t think I have ever had a 24 year old white wine. Nice flavors of lemon on the front with butterscotch and honey flavors evolving mid-palate. Beautiful acidity with a very pleasant honey finish. Celebrating my birthday tonight and this wine was fantastic. — 5 months ago
We are kicking off the weekend with a beautiful Tempranillo blend tonight. We both ordered the Lobster and Shrimp Fra Diavolo fettuccine. The aromatics of this wine are fantastic. I get a lot of dried flowers and vanilla. Lisa picks up hints of almond extract and bubblegum. I know. Not a traditional note! On the palate there are great tastes of plums, wild berries and maybe strawberries. The tannins are still a little gritty but the acidity is perfect and keeps this wine very balanced. It paired very nicely with the spiceness of the fra diavolo. The finish is long but the tannic grip tells me this wine is still a baby. — a month ago
Beautiful light ruby color with pronounced aromas of dried flowers, red fruit and cedar on the nose. Elegant flavors of red cherries, currants, raspberries and some earthiness that really gives a sense of where these grapes were grown. Medium intensity mouthfeel with super silky tannins and crisp acidity followed by a long, powerful finish. — 3 months ago
Very interesting Anderson Valley Pinot Noir. Lots of dried flowers and red fruit on the nose. Bing cherries, strawberries and cola on the palate with very sleek tannins and crisp acidity as well as some earthiness. Great finish. — 5 months ago
