Meo crushed 08. The vintage adds such elegance to the wines and allows terroir to really shine. But it’s actually very Vosne-like with pretty sweet spice and floral aromatics. The palate is pure, focused and delineated with balanced acids and plenty of volume. Beautiful wine. — 4 months ago

Translucent red rose petal glinting star bright. Raspberries and violets, carnations and St. John’s wort, wisps of fungi, live tobacco. Palate floral with rose again and lightest cedar note playing into dried raspberry and tarragon. Pointy acid offering notes of cranberry and pepper with a neatly rolled singularity of purpose. Green and young at this stage, but will unravel to enormous depth.

1989 vintage. Great fill, good (slightly dryish) cork. Decanted and tasted over the course of 3 hours. Great, "silvery" color. Vibrant and youthful nose. Medium body (in 2023?!?!). Ridiculously (and totally unexpectedly) "plushy" mouthfeel. Total unicorn. 1989 was a really nice vintage but not a must have like 2009-2010, 1999 or 1990. Richness dropped a little on the finish but not the concentration. Quality of the producer, juice, place and vintage all shone through during the experience. Based on this bottle, this can bushwack through the next 10-12 years without worry. No rush to crush. Love the ancient price tags.12.9.23. — 5 months ago
