At The [Running] Footman in Mayfair with Sly and Eugene. This was a great Pomerol. Lush but balanced; a ripe style with earthy notes. Good with our Scottish roast beef ... — a month ago
Nose is complex. Stoney minerals. Some petrol. A hint of lemon zest.
Palate is contained richness. Mineral. Perfect lemons.
A great wine in a Hot year. — 4 days ago
Last night I opened the 2016 Château Rose Sainte-Croix made from Left Bank Bordeaux grapes mainly the Médoc - Listrac. The blend is 50% Cabernet Sauvignon and 50% Merlot.
On the nose there is black cherry, blackberry, black plum, black currant, menthol, licorice, spice, some oak and dark earth.
On the palate I am getting black cherry, blackberry, black currant, cedar, licorice, tobacco, herbs, a vegital note, spice and earth.
This wine is full bodied with a smooth mouthfeel medium + acidity and medium + grippy sandy tannins that leave you with a long dark fruit earthy finish. I wish everyone a wonderful weekend, please be safe and stay healthy. Nostrovia! 🍷🍷🍷🍷 — a month ago
2017 vintage: first: just delicious and compulsively drinkable. The lush white fruit and apricot (soft and lengthy finish) is balanced by an interjection of salinity on the finish which just makes a person smile. You don’t get that in American Chardonnay. Someone else commented on perceiving cheese rind in a tug of war with orchard fruits…. I can see that as well! This is a ridiculous value! Buy. Some. Now! — 16 days ago

Decanter for an hour. Cork bad. Used a strainer to pour in my glass. Cherry. Smooth. Nice texture. Velvety. I think minty finish but others might not agree. I enjoy it. — 8 days ago
