My favorite “normal” Crozes. Beef blood, violets, green olive, granite and smoke. Gorgeous expressive nose. Palate is so juicy and ripe with exceptionally pure fruit. Elegant and persistent. Velvety and nimble tannins. Super juicy and drinking so well now. Powers finish. — 5 months ago
Deep magenta hues.
A wave of tobacco soaked cinnamon scent on the nose.
Forward kick of black pepper spice, culminating in a dark cherry mid palate, and ending with a welcome coupling of plum and star anise.
Its good. It’s fruity. It’s spicy. It’s dry. It’s not focused. — 3 months ago
Ganz klassischer Birnenschnaps. — 7 months ago
Deep brassy-gold. Nose is very interesting: apricot, wet carbon steel, and a sweet umami-like note that slightly conjures anchovy. Deep and extremely low-toned flavors. Very Marsanne in its broad, low-toned notes and almost pungent, slightly bitter mineral finish. Unusual, but it works. — a year ago
Roses and cherry jello, herbal and graphite, red fruit/plummy notes more prominent first night but faded night two. Decanted before drinking. Medium plus to high acid and medium tannin. A little bret but not too much to be an issue. Really good and a bargain too! — 4 months ago
