Happy New Year Delectable!
It's a pinot noir new year (Clos De La Roche, Donum west slope pinot, Schramsberg blanc de noir) with an oven roasted chicken dinner!
Double decant and pour the Clos de la Roche. A formidable medium ruby red color. On the nose: spicy cherry, forest floor, slight menthol, raspberry, mushrooms. Taste: smooth, creamy, lush, structured wine with cherry, gamey, minerals, and a spiced strawberry medium plus dry still some tannins kicking finish. Nice start to the night. Cheers! — a month ago
Perfectly fine brandy, but I expected more from the price. — a month ago

Iron fist with a velvet glove. Delicate flavors of lemon peel and crushed stones, with lanolin texture, fullish body, refreshing freshness, and long finish. — a month ago
Blend of Mourvèdre (60%), Cabernet Sauvignon (20%) and Syrah (20%). First vintage that Syrah was incorporated into the blend. Rich, powerful and intense even after twenty years. Ripe plums and prunes on the nose and pallet with additional notes of pomegranate, tobacco and black pepper spice. Touch of minerality on the finish. Nice with smoked or grilled meat. Surprising that it’s so approachable so young. Very loaded yellow color. On the nose bruised and cooked apple, quince, saffron, dried orange peel, maybe a touch of floral honey. Very high aromatic intensity coupled with so much freshness, which you wouldn’t expect with these descriptors. The palate confirms it, more orange peel and hints of Aperol, less saffron, but all very fresh and so balanced, miraculously hiding the whopping 15.5% alcohol!! What a wine, it makes me smile at every sip and demands my attention, I just can’t multitask when having it. — 3 days ago
