Old Garden Vineyard Mourvedre 2020

Wow. Amazing. Focused, concentrated, flawless. Seamless layers of fresh dark red fruit infused with subtle spice and carried by fully integrated fine, smooth tannins. All in complete harmony. Made from small berries grown by 150 year old vines planted by the first settlers from Prussia, Central Europe. Is this the oldest Mourvèdre vineyard in the world? Chinon Cabernet Franc 2016

Yummy hay/mud aroma in the glass, tastes like a dry pinot noir at first. Opens up to a barely ripe cherry over time. Served by the lovely Dean. — 5 years ago

Baby Bush Barossa Valley Mourvedre 2014

Wood, licorice, a then cherry arrives (breathe deep). Carries an age and brightness in flavor that can’t be possible but is nice. Plum, and cherry come through. Very nice. — 4 years ago

BlackBerry and bitter cherry, very well balanced. Great with steak and smoked Gouda.

Private Cellar Falkenberg Vineyard Shiraz 2014

Personally brought it back from Australia. The very accommodating winery and their absolute wonderful staff accommodated a direct shipment to the city I was staying, free of charge. Deep dark tanniny liquid. Dark, dry layered fruit, with satisfying complexity and a finish that kept you wanting to drink more. A bit unbalanced kept it away from a higher score. — 5 years ago
