Flash tasting; no formal notes. The 2019 “Clos de la Perrière” is a similar, pretty ruby with bolder strawberry and cherry than the 2018 displays. The structure is quite a bit bigger as well with grippy tannin and good acid. Medium finish. Better after 2029. — 5 months ago

Awesome. Tastes like a mix of Napa and Bordeaux. Dark fruit, a bit of olives, earth, smooth, with that unmistakable “something” that separates great wines from very good wines (someday I will learn what flavor that is, I love it). After a « simple » natural wine as an aperitif that seems simpler, we tell ourselves that this wine is not as remarkable as the label promises. The aromatic range is interesting, unfolding as you taste it. Typical notes of noble Syrah: violet, black fruits, pepper, blackcurrant, smoked larded notes. The volume on the palate is medium bodied and the finish might have needed a few more hours of aeration, as can be seen from the difference between the 1st and 3rd glass. Good but not wow

Après un vin nature à l’apéro à priori plus simple, on se dit que ce vin n’est pas aussi remarquable que l’étiquette le promet. La gamme aromatique est intéressante, se déployant à mesure de la dégustation. Notes typique de la Syrah noble: violette, fruits noirs, poivre, cassis, notes lardées fumées. Le volume en bouche est moyen corsé et la finale aurait peut-être eu besoin de quelques heures supplémentaires d’aération, en atteste la différence entre le 1er et le 3ème verre.
