I love Mas de Daumas Gassac’s whites and know a lot of people who do. I also like their reds but know many people (some of the same) who do not. They find the Cabernet Sauvignon grown in the Languedoc to be not quite right. On this bottle, I think I’ve identified something I like in the reds. The Cab Sauv has some of the same taste profile of better Chilean Cab Sauv that I grew up drinking as the son of Chileans (before they served the international / Parkerized palate). Anyway, a young bottle, but enjoyable with ribeye steaks, sautéed mushrooms and sautéed spinach. It represents a field blend of 12-20 different varietals, mostly historically French, but from all the major regions. 76% Cab Sauv,, 5% Tannat, 4% Merlot, 3% Pinot Noir, 3% Petit Verdot, 3% Syrah, 2% Cab Franc, plus ~4% other grapes from Italy, Georgia, Spain and France (the technical sheet identifies the Camenere as Chilean, but it is originally from France). — 15 days ago

Trying the Mas de Daumas Gassac lineup. Aside from their flagship Languedoc red this might be my fav. It’s rose sparkling with incredibly bright strawberry notes and deep acidity. Light lees flavour. The hefty body and full mousse really make it stand out. Wow. — 7 months ago

Great as always. A seductive perfume of white lily and jasmine flowers waft from the glass, and there is exquisite balance on the palate, with a bit of Viognier/Chenin “gras” paired with wet rocks, a refreshing tartness and almost phenolic spice on the finish. — 4 years ago

Quite lovely! Not as good as the Daumas Gassac last night, but very strong showing.

Refined nose of tar and earth. Cherry fruit combined with leather and just a hint of spice on the palate. Medium plus finish. Very good value at the price point.

This is the Mas de Daumas Gassac White Blend. Delectable needs to merge this database as there are multiple names for the same wines. Used to work for Delectable in the early days and spent a lot of hours merging multiple entries for the same wine.
Very interesting white blend: Viognier, Chardonnay, Chenin and multiple other white varietals.As expected, it had weight and body. A little like Condrieu meets White Chateneuf. Thoroughly enjoyed it. — 5 years ago
