Toast and citrus. Small bubbles. Acidic. Henriot Brut Souverain @4400/375, Academy D, 240128 — 2 years ago
Dark Ruby color with aromas of berry fruit with earthy spice tones. On the palate cherry and blackberry flavors with pepper spice, tobacco and cacao on fine dusty tannins. Medium+ finish, nice mouthfeel, ending with fruit and an oak mineral character. — 3 months ago
“What Bordeaux should taste like.” Tashie. Great QPR estephe with a bit of bottle on it. Every sip you notice a different flavor but definitely has graphite, plums, herbs d Provence, and nice integrated tannins. — 2 years ago
This wine would deserve more reputatuon in my personal opinion.
If you don't know that it ages in clay amphora on the skin for quote a long time, if you don't know that is biodynamic and that altogether there very minimal intervention in the whole process you would just go...WOW!!! It reminds a Chassagne-Montrachet for elegance and balance, a good one i mean
Complexity is there, easy drinking and potential to age. Quite long too. What more do we want? Price for the quality is fair, not cheap, bit not overly expensive(arou d 40euros served in a restaurant) — 3 years ago
See previous Delectable Notes from June 2020. Very dark Ruby in colour. Ripe cherry and liquorice on nose and palate - cherry skins. A medium weight palate finishing with fine powdery tannins. Dolcetto is essentially a simple wine (went well with Quiche) but when made by a producer of the reputation of G D Vajra its a particularly good representation of the grape. See previous note from October 2021, 48 weeks ago. Not sure I’ve ever got my head around the characteristics of Dolcetto - like a detuned Nebbiolo. Notes as previous with fine chalky tannins. — 4 years ago
