Coors Banquet

Curly Flat

Macedon Ranges Chardonnay 2021

From half bottle at what I believe is Australia’s best Cantonese restaurant which is Flower Drum in Melbourne, and has been for 48 years. I had the Chefs banquet of 6 small courses. No notes on the wine but a quality producer from a quality terroir in the Macedon Ranges. Definitely cool climate and on the lean side. Great with food. — 4 months ago

Château Clerc Milon

Pauillac Red Bordeaux Blend 1986

1986; Won the cork lottery on this impeccable bottle, mint, leather, dark red fruits. Post No. 2900.

Slow oxidation, +24H.

@Delectable Wine It would be great if really good wines would Trend again, as opposed to literally anything that could be 'purchased' via the Shop Banquet platform, it's just wrong and against the beautiful Community we have here. Just my 2¢.

Loved this, especially with the coors light technology-“when the text turns blue, you know what to do”. Delicious. — 3 years ago

Grande Réserve Brut Champagne Blend

Beautiful and gold, almost too easy drinking with ripe apples, nutmeg, raisin pastry… it’s positively autumnal - perfect for toasting to a new home - and letting go of our first ever home, which we bought when we were on a Coors budget! How far we’ve come! — 3 years ago

Petracine Langhe Riesling 2017

Absolutely splendid! Enjoyed with a SNARFs Italian sandwich. This wine is underrated and good luck finding it in Colorado… a vaccum for quality. Brought this back from Mecca in my luggage. Nice one to drink to your face on Coors 150th anniversary in Golden, CO. Enough of a rant. Thanks for reading! Another moment wasted in the company of JC, amen. — a year ago

Xerinola Blanco Xarello Maccabeu 2020

Amy’s, Greg’s farewell.

Light, cloudy orange wine. Apricot, guava.

“Light refreshing orange wine. “Xerinola" is a Catalan word meaning "a banquet with well-known friends and family." This cuvée is the winemakers favourite drink. Hints of lemon curd, nectarine, grapefruit and guava.

Freemark Abbey

Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2016

Nose has ripe blackberry, medium roast coffee grounds, tannic black cherry, crushed milk chocolate, sliced red pepper, tanned black leather and ripe plum skin.

Palate has ripe blackberry, plum, milk chocolate chips, mild new oak, black currant and red clay pottery. Mild tannins are becoming integrated. Decanted 6H.

We enjoyed this bottle with mesquite smoked chuck steaks from a local farmer (Kinderhook Farm; Valatie, NY), cooked slow and low. Manage your temperature and you'll never be disappointed, on the grill for almost 25+minutes, but beautifully medium-rare.

FAW is a staple producer in our cellar, but generally I do not touch anything until at least a 10-12Y birthday. A one off bottle purchase from Costco ($40) so that I can check in on bottles we're waiting on.

75.8% Cabernet Sauvignon, 16.2% Merlot, 4.0% Malbec, 3% Petit Verdot, 1% Cabernet Franc.
Sourced from Bosché Vineyard, Keyes Vineyard, Oakville Vineyard, Stagecoach Vineyard & Sycamore Vineyard.

FYI, new-ish trending algorithm on Delectable only pushes wines to the feed which can be purchased through Delectable/Banquet. Kind of a 'fake news' feed of the actual popularity on wines in the platform, but what do I know?! I figured since this bottle 'trended' with no likes as of this commentary, I'd let everyone know. I generally don't drink wines that are available via Banquet registered purveyors, since most of our wines are unique or older. Same with 'Tasting Notes: Weeky Roundup' so be aware. Enjoy this tidbit of knowledge, community. 🤗 My soapbox.

That’s what “Trending” has always been.

@Tom Casagrande It's gotten much worse in the past couple of months since they 'experimented' with a new algorithm. Before wines which were well liked or quickly liked would trend. Now anything they can sell, without any respect to quality or popularity, trends.

This has been true for a while and should be changed. This takes the “social” out of the “media”...
