We opened this beautiful Cava, the 2020 Ravantós i Blanc Conca del Riu Anoia Extra Brut Cava Rose. From Catalonia Sant Sadurni D'Anoia, Spain. A blend of 44% Xarel-lo, 39% Macabeo, 12% Parellada and 5% Monastrell.

On the nose is strawberry, lemon, white peach, lime peel, almond and a bit of minerality.

On the palate there is strawberry, citrus, lemon, lime peel, tarragon, hazelnut, yellow apple and minerality.

This wine is medium bodied with an onion skin color with a bone dry mouthfeel medium + to high acidity that leaves us with a long fresh citrus wet rock finish. At $23 you can't go wrong. Lovely older Porto, seems consistent with my perception of Taylor as big structure, and a tad drier style, only nit might be that it seemed initially like the spirit and Porto were no longer in total harmony, but still really fine! — 5 years ago

Strawberries and raspberries on the nose, surprisingly soft structure (although still a "big" wine) with sweetness, inky, powdery, ripe tannins. Earth tones emerge at the back of the palate. Already in the drinking window but no rush to consume these. 95+. Awesome wine! — a year ago

Vines planted in !901, 1902. Mainly Grenache 90-95%. 15% ABV but nit noticeably hot. Black cherry, black plum, spicy but not peppery, forest floor, little chocolate covered cherry, Med+ acid, well integrated tannins. Alcohol showing up a little on finish. Smooth and complex. — 3 years ago

Very dark purple color, nearly opaque, intense black fruit and red fruit aromas and flavors, excellent intensity and depth, biodynamic producer, long, lingering finish, my only real nit is it’s 15% ABV, and the alcohol is very evident in the finish, so kinda afraid to age it the 5+ additional years this bottle shows it should logically handle (slight score markdown to reflect this dilemma). — 7 months ago

Light gravelly fruit wafts.
This garnacha is a joy to drink, very unique terroir and production. Alpine berry, menthol lite, fresh pomegranate ( Sans seed).
I wish I bought a case.
