Quite deep ruby , with a wide garnet rim, quite young looking. Dried herbs , smoked meat , red cherry, violets , liquorice and antique furniture polish notes . On the palate quite round and rich, sweet red fruits , with that herbal tinge , those liquorice and charcuterie notes also evident . This in fact still shows well a day later , still quite full and rich , with red plum and black cherry notes . Quite good acidity , with quite gritty tannins, balanced alcohol . Decent length . This is very good now though no rush , mature but will continue to show well for a while longer , from now over the next 5 years . Not a typical Chianti IMO and not sure if it was doing a blind tastes test I would ever guess Chianti. That being said it’s a super drinkable wine that like most wines, gets better as it sits. Enjoyable at the first sip and even more so at the last! This might be a good introduction to Chianti for first-timers. — 4 days ago
