2021 vintage. The white/black pepper thingy (pesticides) in the nose. Light-medium body. Super-chiseled with dark fruit, aforementioned pepper presence, graphite and hints of blackberry. Lean and mean. 11.20.24. — a year ago

2020 vintage. Popped and poured. Medium-heavy body. Rich, velveteen, smooth nose and proceedings with nary a speed bump. Some necessary dark cherry flavors initially to lend acidity since the back-end tannins are out to lunch. Correspondingly, no tannins and drinking pretty well currently. Can it get better? I could see it hitting a 9.5 in the next decade but that would be the ceiling. Prob settles in best at a 9.4. *edit* tasted 8 hours later after simply placing the cork back in the bottle and rating it a 9.4. Showing more depth/subtleties. Decant this bad bad boy or open well in advance. 10.8.25. — 6 months ago
