Really fun Sauvignon Blanc - had the typical lemon zest but had harder minerals to make it fuller and fun! Bought at BP. Maybe buy again! — 7 months ago
This Douro field blend is made by a good friend of mine, Mike Kush... he spends half a year in Portugal and half a year in New Zealand making wine for other people... Chasing Harvest is the label he and his wife make on their own.., this wine is a great table wine and works perfect with simple Neopolitan pizza and red sauced pasta. Dark, fruit-forward, smooth and balanced. Mike’s wines always offer lots of pleasure on the table. Wishing Mike lots of positive energy as he works on year three of the Master of Wine program. — 5 years ago
Tart cherry with some earthiness. Another example of why we like Pinots from Otago NZ. August 2024. — 2 months ago
Dark fruit and allspice in the nose. Dark fruit, especially black cherries and currents with a hint of nutmeg. This is a really good Grenache. We are trying it as part of a Grenache tasting of one from Napa, Oregon, France and Spain. — 7 months ago
Raised a glass tonight to owner and winemaker Denis Durantou who passed in May. We were fortunate to meet him for a tasting and tour of his property back in 2012....a wonderful person, great winemaker with a sly sense of humor....jokingly told us Chateau Petrus knew it was time to pick their fruit when they would look over and see him picking his fruit😂.
1.5 hour decant (lots of chunky sediment). A superb dark garnet color with some bricking. On the nose: Very Expressive! with forest floor, plum, sweet vanilla, earthy, floral, and band aids. Taste: A soft medium body wine with plum/strawberry, minerals, crushed rocks, leading to a dry pencil lead finish. Well Done in a "difficult" vintage ( though many in Pomerol picked before all the Sept. rain). — 4 years ago
Enjoyed this one with a classic French meal of steak and béarnaise with roasted carrots and dauphinois potatoes. Hints of oak and cherry and red currants. Lots of merlot keeps it soft and supple. One guys comment was “tart cherries peel through the windows in the rain-slicked cobblestone alley.” Quite poetic and really accurate. There is a wet stone quality to this wine that appeals to me. Enjoyed and would drink again. — 3 months ago
