Golden in color. Hints of toast and nuts. Dried apricot and honey but still has some slate and a fine lemon acidity to brighten. A great time to drink this as it has the vibrancy of youth but the complexity of age. Great detail and texture. Lovely — a month ago
Medium lemon colour . Lovely lemon, buttered pastry nose , still so fresh and lively . Mineral with a honeysuckle note , touch of blanched almond . On the palate quite rich and complex , with high acidity and mineral , honied , brioche notes , still quite fresh though with lots of creamy lemon hints. Long mineral tinged finish . Lovely now and over the next 5-10 years . — 4 days ago
One of the 1001 wines. The brilliance of Mesnil is on show in Les Chetillons - let’s not forget that two of the most prestigious Champagnes are from here too, Salon and Krug’s Clos de Mesnil. This is much more reasonably priced than those two. When poured this has a very fine bead with voluminous mousse. The colour of bright straw yellow. The palate had broad developed notes with mushroom and toasted hazelnuts in the aromas. After a while a delightful note of poached pear. — a day ago

Wow. Both fruit and brioche working together in the best way.. At 20 years, still a mere babe. Thanks to 67 Pall Mal for offering this by the glass. I have 12 bottles in home storage and might have to start working them through the rotation. — 13 days ago
