Substance Brut Blanc de Blancs Grand Cru Champagne Chardonnay

D: 7/17 A real privilege to have this so soon after the last; burgundy glass this time vs. bulbous white wine. First 90mins were similarly sublime, but then did close a little before livening up a more citrus forward fashion and then retracing its steps back into the sublime at around 3hrs. — 5 months ago

Lieux Dits Aÿ La Cote Faron Extra Brut Grand Cru Champagne Blend

(Disgorged 1/18)- This has always been my favorite Blanc de Noirs and one of the first “ah ha” Selosse wines for me some years ago. The south facing La Côte Faron is particularly “Selossien” and therefore in my mind very singular, with its oxidative complexity, textural richness and generous sun kissed ripe fruit expression. Like all Selosse wines, it’s layered and particularly aromatic for Champagne with intense caramelized red berry fruit, licorice and wildflower honey. The palate shows tremendous volume and intensity with a powerful, full bodied and satiny texture and a long, vibrant, mineral finish. So good. — 2 months ago

La Colline Inspirée Extra Brut Blanc de Blancs Champagne

This is beautiful. I got a lot of apple and pear initially, opened up to lemon, buttermilk, a slight earthy/woodsy/herbal component. The acidity is so well balanced. There’s some oyster shells and sourdough starter underneath it all. I just love this. Ultimately it’s lemons and pears and cream in wonderful harmony for me. — 5 months ago
