I know a thing or two about Loire cab franc. This is a crazy wine. Light body. Complex. Faintest pyrazines, but totally integrated, so they only appear on the mid pallet and are disappear at the finish. bright, restrained red fruit. drying tannins on the back end. Almost alpine, underripe blackberries and cracked pepper. Drinks like a feminine Barbaresco with different fruit profile. Wild. — 3 months ago

Last night I opened the 2016 Château Rose Sainte-Croix made from Left Bank Bordeaux grapes mainly the Médoc - Listrac. The blend is 50% Cabernet Sauvignon and 50% Merlot.
On the nose there is black cherry, blackberry, black plum, black currant, menthol, licorice, spice, some oak and dark earth.
On the palate I am getting black cherry, blackberry, black currant, cedar, licorice, tobacco, herbs, a vegital note, spice and earth.
This wine is full bodied with a smooth mouthfeel medium + acidity and medium + grippy sandy tannins that leave you with a long dark fruit earthy finish. I wish everyone a wonderful weekend, please be safe and stay healthy. Nostrovia! 🍷🍷🍷🍷 — 2 years ago

Well, what an overachiever this wine is! Mayne Lalande, a little known chateau in Listrac-Médoc, and a bottle which I picked up for a humble price at auction around a year ago. It’s fresh, sappy, delicious and positively refreshing at 12% abv. I wish I had more of this. A joyous rendition of old left-bank Bordeaux. — 2 days ago
