Well if you live in San Diego. The only ‚real’ place to get your Burgh fix in San Diego is at the Meritage Wine Market in Encinitas. They know because they will try these. This bottle was not priced yet they asked me to sample it. Super elegant and perfectly balanced. Young, very coiled. The power is there but hiding. Yuzu, pear, hint herabceous, jasmine, chalk. Will be >100$ for sure. This producer just knocks it out of the park for both the whites and reds. — 7 days ago

2014 vintage. Last tasted 07.04.25 (9.3) and 01.30.25 (9.3). Decanted with some sed and tasted after 30 mins. Consistent with previous tastings in 2025. Hint of richness up front, then very businesslike afterwards. Fairly dry but began to fold a modicum of fruit into the proceedings a spell ago. Quintessential, affordable BDX with a decade of service tendered out in the boonies but back in town again and starting to hit the hot spots. Lean but not mean. Complex bouquet comes alive as it warms with key lime pie, caramel apples, white flowers, and Chantilly cream underlaid by chalky marl aromas. The first thing I would say about the bottle is if served blind, most…including me would not gravitate to St.Emilion. Some might go Napa Cabernet here it is so ripe. I think it rides the fence of 65% Napa Cabernet & 35% Pauillac.

The second thing I would say it definitely shows the beauty of the 2009 vintage. This will be even more amazing in 8-10 yrs.

This is as ripe of a Bordeaux that I’ve had since the 2003 vintage. Maybe, more so at least here.

M+ velvety yet chunky tannins. Ripe, lush, ruby; blackberries, black raspberries, black plum skin, black cherries, blueberries, boysenberries, strawberries, sweet tarriness, black licorice, baking spices, dry tobacco, lead pencil shavings. Leather, dark cola, dark chocolate baking bar, dry top soils, limestone, dark rich earth, river stone pebbles, touch of black pepper, oak barrel shavings, dry tea leaves, hint of mint, mix of fresh, candied & withering; dark, red, blue flowers framed in liquid violets & lavender, round acidity with balance, nice structure & tension, lush elegance for days and lands on fruits & earthiness lasting two-minutes.

Very juicy and flashy. Almost too bright. Needs to settle down. Cherry, hint blueberry quite rich at this point. Hint black tea, touch bitter. Needs at least 5 years to loose its baby fat. Enjoy now or wait. Very well made & DIAM30 cork. Unfortunately 100$. — 3 months ago
