Holding up very well. Not going to further evolve to a better place, tho.
Sage and licorice notes on the nose, give way to sandalwood and earth on the palate. All the characteristics that wifey chooses to avoid. You need the right mindset to approach this.

So much to enjoy: spicy, bright, brambly, juicy red fruit that demands a glass kept close at hand. — 14 hours ago

Beau Tour Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 1985

Cork fell apart but wine was not spoiled. Cinnamon and oak notes with a hint of dried cherries. So fun to open up the 35 year old wine. — 25 days ago

Château Tour Birol

Red Bordeaux Blend 2015

2016 vintage. Attractive nose with red fruits and subtle spices. Medium-bodied, juicy and fresh with a slightly rustic tannic bite that I suspect will round off in 1 or 2 years. Fine value at 8 euros. — 20 days ago

Medium(+) intensity aromas of black fruit (plum, cherry and prune) with secondary aromas of oak (cedar, smoke and dark chocolate) and just beginning to show some tertiary aromas and flavors of tobacco leaf and prunes. The wine has medium(+) acidity, medium(+) fine grained textural tannins and medium(+) body. The finish is medium (+) and while slightly grippy, those tannins are ripe and it’s that structure which will give it the ability to age in bottle for another 5/7 years. There is enough fruit and defined aromas and flavors to balance the acidity and the tannins which want to be the protagonista of this wine. A solid Claret. #saintestephe #bordeaux #grandvindebordeaux #cabernet #cabernetsauvignon #merlot and just 5% #petitverdot — a month ago
