Wow. Like a 350 pound lineman who can pirouette and run a 4.4 40. Likey. — 5 years ago

Tampa Bay Brewing Co. ‘Gourds Gone Wild’
Amber expectation unravel to express whipped cream on pumpkin pie! Heavy on the cream! Flaky crust seems imminent. This motif swings full circle on the palate-pirouette to suggest the same with clove and nutmeg in tow. Beer aspect has turned treacle-sarsaparilla but genuine and tasty-toasted, so, let it go! Haters hate Christmas ales too and summer and seasonal but love their Willy wonky candy beers. Grow some. The style is good, screaming autumn from the hollow skull of Halloween. Don’t be scared!

Everything I could possibly want it to be at this age. Damsons and blackcurrant, meat, smoke, earth. Depth, power, complexity. Packs a huge punch (I laughed when I first put my nose in it) yet stays dainty and elegant. A hippo in a tutu doing a startlingly good pirouette, a wild animal and an aristocrat. Am almost frightened by how good this will be when fully mature. — 8 years ago

Nose needed 10 minutes to open up. Violet aromas, probably due to the rather high percentage of Petit Verdot . 50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 40%Merlot, and 10% Petit Verdot. Good fruit concentration, balanced and with some complexity. Great value at less than 12 euros. Abv. 13,5%. — 2 months ago
