2014 Sec Tendre- really delicious hi acid orange nectarine fruit, chalk, incredible saline length. Yum. — 6 years ago
More of a sec tendre. Will be interesting to follow over a day or two. — 8 years ago
So tasty - just spot on: sexy nose of honey & beeswax, ripe red apples, lanolin, musk, and orchard fruit. Just wafty… silky on palate, great weight vibrant acidity and so honeyed w/out being cloying. Minerality & smoke, gorgeous yellow orchard fruit w/kiss of RS - I’d call Sec Tendre. — 5 years ago

Encore de la difficulté avec ce vin et avec 2012. Chambolle devrait être plus charmeur, plus tendre, alors qu’ici je trouve à la fois le vin dur et mince... c’est rare mais j’y ai trouvé des notes de café. — 5 years ago
Hint of blueberry and spices gives it a nice body. It is not sweet but a very balanced flavor. — 7 years ago
Après les Cabottes 13 bu quelques jours plus tôt, je m’attendais à un vin severe ici aussi. Au contraire un vin beaucoup plus tendre, rempli de fruits noirs, qui s’améliore le temps du repas. Un beau vin ! — 8 years ago
I decided that lunch with family at a terrific restaurant was a fitting setting for my last bottle of 1997 Pinon Vouvray Cuvée Tradition, a wine that has seen so many family celebrations through the years, and it again performed admirably. This bottle is probably a little past peak, showing a little oxidation, but Chenin handles a little oxidation pretty well as the honeyed stone fruit and minerals seem to absorb it. With the sec tendre sweetness and still lively acidity, it is made for food, and paired brilliantly with a range of inventive and delicious dishes focused on seafood and vegetables, though it worked with a raw beef dish just as well. The wine may be gone, but the memories of it will last for a long time. — 9 years ago

The label also says “Le Mourre de la Caille,” but I’m not sure if that’s just a motto for the domaine or it’s a different cuvée. It’s a 70/20/10 GSM. Only 14% alcohol. The nose is invitingly fruity, with deep spicy dark berry fruit and a little of the old time Southern Rhone iodiney minerality. Mouthfilling, with deeply fruity, low-toned dark berry fruity and savory flavors. It’s ripe but not too ripe or jammy. And there’s quite a bit of soft tannin buried under the fruit-alanche. I really like this. — 4 months ago
