No notes, to go along arguably the best cassoulet in the region. Black fruits on the nose, a bit of leather too. Great acid drive and great width, nice tannins all along and fine tannins that kick in the rear before a nice and delicate finish. Great stuff and pairing made in heaven. — 2 years ago
Strong tannins, hint of licorice. Pairs nicely with fatty cheese (especially a sharp cheddar). — 5 years ago
This is very similar to Les Jardins Philosophiques from the sister property Bouscasse, with a bit more nutty lightly oxidative notes that almost points you to Jura Blanc. Textured body contrasts the crisp acidity nicely.
Usually a blend of Petit Courbu and Petit Manseng, but the back label shows 100% Petit Courbu for 2015. This will cruise for another 5-8 years. — 2 months ago
My prior experience with Tannat was limited to a bottle of Bodega Garzon, and I was not really a fan. This bottle gives me new perspective about the variety.
A blend of Tannat/CS/CF (60/20/20), it opens with ripe black fruits tinged with peppery spices, dark cocoa, cherry cola, and just hint of barnyard. Velvety palate with surprisingly polished tannins.
My first Madiran. Chateau Bouscassé is the home estate of Alain Brumont who also owns the more famous Chateau Montus. — 2 years ago

Rich, nuts, complexity, elegant. Joel Robuchon Chardonnay 14 @4950, Dmar, 241007,88
Deep yellow green. Oak, cider, stone. Quite high viscosity. Gentle citrus. Nuts, creamy. Rich. Gentle acidity, balanced with other flavor. Artistic wine. One of the completion style. 14 @4950, Dmar, 241007-250308,90 as a 10 years vintage — 5 months ago
Just lovely black plummy fruit, some minerality as well, shows very youthful appearance and flavors, like the Bouscasse VV, 12.5% ABV and shows great freshness and no overripeness, long finish, back when I was actively tasting and following CA red wines, I loved the balance of the 1995 vintage, super fine with years to go, bravo to Patrick C!! — 2 years ago

[80% Tannat, 20% Cabernet Sauvignon] Leather, forest floor, maybe a little Brett, excellent structure and depth, despite its age, seems like it can easily age another 10-15 years, long, lingering finish, excellent Madiran! — 2 months ago
