Even better than the last time I tasted it about a year ago.
Plum, blackcurrant, black pepper, cinnamon, dark chocolate, and smoked meat. Dense and supple with firm acidic structure. Fine polished tannins.
A blend of Tannat/CS/CF (60/20/20), this should cellar well.

Bump for QPR: this was delicious! Approachable and immediately wafting gobs of dark fruit aromas, cocoa, licorice, forest floor, just a bevy of distinct notes. Smooth luxurious on palate, Madiran doesn’t do luxury, but this was so lovely, we came away really impressed. Cohesive, impeccable balance - med weight, supple tannins.

Très bon vin, un peu sec à mon goût. Certains disent que le 2016 pas mal meilleur que 2017, a voir et ressayer prochains millésimes. Vin avec caractère.

My prior experience with Tannat was limited to a bottle of Bodega Garzon, and I was not really a fan. This bottle gives me new perspective about the variety.

A blend of Tannat/CS/CF (60/20/20), it opens with ripe black fruits tinged with peppery spices, dark cocoa, cherry cola, and just hint of barnyard. Velvety palate with surprisingly polished tannins.

My first Madiran. Chateau Bouscassé is the home estate of Alain Brumont who also owns the more famous Chateau Montus.

After decanting and letting rest for a while it is a great well balanced wine
