09' Larkmead LMV Salon. 63% CB 16% CF 5% Malbec & Merlot.
Two hour decanting & it's still a bit tight. So much going on in this wine. Even more so than Russell's EE last night.
Big boy Red ... dark berries, mocha, unlimited layers in this wine. 10/15 great years in it.
2004 through 2010 👍
I've got to purchase some older vintages of Salon/ Solari !!! These wines are like hidden gems. -at Humu Humi, Grand Wailea-Maui — 7 years ago
10' Matthiasson Red Blend . When I visited the old farmhouse a few years back I wrote down the blend...55% Merlot 35% CB & the rest of it? A rare sighting these days of 13.1% ALC.
After trying this wine a few years back, I thought it needed a bit of time.
I decanted for two hours . Color-Dark red brick. Nose- Black olives, violets. Palate- Wow this is nothing like I remembered it. Ripe black fruits(cherries, black plums). Black tea, dark chocolate, mint, herbs. All these flavors with a supple punch to it. There's no need to wait that much longer before drinking this . Very enjoyable bottle. — 7 years ago
09' Booker Alchemist . 65% Syrah, 15% CB, 10% PV, 10% Grenache. A short decanting of an hour does wonders for this . After an hour it all comes together.
The nose just sells this wine with inviting black cherries & black raspberries. Palate- Sweet black raspberry, cedar, toast, healthy amount of spices. Long & lingering finish. Medium + bodied & drinking in it's prime now. Edit- Much better then it was just a few years back. Note to self- BUY MORE BOOKER- — 7 years ago

Bing cherries rich with a great mouth feel. This 2014 Rochioli Pinot Noir is really good. Available at WineWorks Marlton. Rochioli is on the ball in making Great Pinot. This was a gift from TP. You know who your are. True friend. CB 94+ in my book. — 7 years ago
Awesome 97 Insignia. The wine of the night and there were plenty others. Sharing this with all on our Monday night dinner group. I would say 100 points because it was. Guys like Rob Parker recently upgraded this to a 100pts. Big rich full and elegant stand out on this 20 yr old wine. Thanks David for giving me this Awesome Beauty. CB — 7 years ago

2011 might be a forgotten vintage but this CB is really memorable. Did a pop and pour and it had great aromatics straight away. Medium to full bodied. Velvety. Layered. Dark berries, herbs, black tea, licorice, bay leaf. First wine on the trip to France. Great start! — 3 months ago
