Founded in 1932 by Isaac Muga Martínez, now run by Manuel, Isabel & Isaac Muga Caño. Deep Ruby, aromas of sweet red and black fruits with pepper spice, unmistakable Muga. 4 grape blend from the Haro district (70% Tempranillo, rest Garnacha, Mazuelo & Graciano), palate shows cherry and currant flavors with espresso, vanilla & toasty oak tones. Soft full tannins, lively acidity on a medium+ finish ending with an earthy mineral character. Nice value! — a month ago
The 2006 La Torre pours a slightly hazy garnet color; browning with some rim variation. Medium+ viscosity with no staining of the tears. On the nose, the wine is vinous and showing the typical nature of the vintage; full, round, generous. The fruit is mostly desiccated in profile with leather, espresso, chocolate, earth and gentle warm spices. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium+ tannin and medium acid. The structure is very well integrated but keeping everything propped up. The finish is long, lovely. Drink now. I wouldn’t hold these past 2026. — 2 months ago

March 2024. Solid, classic, very enjoyable Brunello. Have had 2 vintages if this wine now. 2014 here and the 2016 in a restaurant. This 2014 (not a great vintage year) was surprisingly very good. The 2016 was young,so we decanted. It was much better, as expected given the great vintage year ‘16 was. Look forward to having more of this! — 19 days ago
