At Pesach so glassware was hit and miss. Lots of miss.
This is consistently a marvel of high altitude, no toast(steamed)barrel, various wood Nebbiolo.
After 10-15 mins open the nose is like the most intense, ethereal fraises de bois. Intermingled with fine rocks and wood. Bright!
On the palate, it’s redolent of high altitude tiny berries, transparent and lively, gripping your lower front gums with a hint of licorice.
The only issue may be finding the generosity to share it.

This full varietal wine - 100% Nero de Troia - is tinted medium dark ruby. The nose is somewhat muted upon opening, but shows dark fruit - blackberry, plum - laced with an earthy minerality and a whiff of smoke. The palate has the dark fruit up front, and the sip is smooth. Spices liven up the taste, but they do not seem over-oaked. The tannins are well integrated and provide ample food-friendliness without getting in the way of the mouthfeel. The finish is medium-long and the minerals play through to the end. — 2 years ago
Dreamy is the word that comes to mind as the 2018 Vigna la Miccia Marsala Superiore Oro wafts up with a decadent blend of roasted almonds and hazelnuts, complicated by gingery spice and baked peaches. This opens with a pretty inner sweetness and oily textures that are perfectly offset by notes of spiced citrus, cloves, cedar and a bitter tinge of coffee grounds. It cleans up beautifully, ridiculously long and staining yet still fresh, leaving hints of cocoa and butterscotch to linger on the finish. (Eric Guido, Vinous, June 2024)

— a year ago
Good quality - excellent on a daily basis. The wine is made with Sangiovese, Canaiolo, Syrah, Cabernet e some others red grapes. It is medium body and fresh on the palate. The tannin is firm but velvet and is in balance with the fruit. Can drink now: not suitable for ageing.

50% blend each of estate reserve Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah. Approachable on opening with dark cherry and some spice on the nose. The palate is earthy with dark cherry, blackberry, and a bit of huckleberry tartness tossed in for mouthwatering effect. There is an underlying earthiness with dried leaves and undergrowth that grows with a moderately long finish. Lots of layers to this. I could mistake this for an old world wine with the exception that this has the California denseness of flavors. — 2 years ago
