A very pleasant Cahors Malbec. Fruit is dark and overripe. Plum, blueberry, macerated strawberries. Maybe some melon and licorice. A little lacking in acidity.

This was really funky on opening and then blew some of that off to have a brawny wine with good fruit and tannin. Some earth and herbs. Dark fruits. Really liked it. — 8 months ago

Great vintage for this. Super stoney nose. So so stoney. Smoke. Some red berry fruit. But so stoney. Gorgeous balance and so so juicy with that stoniness coming through with huge tannins that are so velvety. Pure. Juicy. Gorgeously defines red berry fruit. Amazing inner mouth aromas. Awesome freshness and acidity. Long. Amazing wine. What an estate. By far the best Cahors. Ripe vintages key here. This is superb. — 6 years ago
Black currant aromas with a little something else... not quite earthiness, not quite baking spice... I'm going with smooth black wet rocks (probably influenced by reading the label note that "du Caillau" means "pebbles". Round yet light and fruity on the palate with ripe blackberries and some spices. — 2 months ago

vintage 2019 | Tasted this wine two times blind in three days, there must be bottle differences. Two days ago the wine was stubborn and in disbalance. Now the smell is mesmerizing and the taste is supple with lovely red cherries. — a month ago
