Another solid vintage. Bright lemon yellow color. Aromas of orchard fruit, wild flowers and ginger spice. Flavors of peach, green apple, grapefruit, gooseberries and a bit of mineral. Distinctive and pleasant saline note on the medium/plus finish. Crisp acidity and well balanced. Well rounded texture. I thought I may have waited a bit too long to open this wine, but was pleased with how fresh and vibrant it was. Consistently high quality from an excellent producer. — 16 days ago

A truly splendid Carneros Pinot. Inky purple with a wide brim. Fruity on the nose with spicy cherries and blueberry pie. Umami and oak aromas abound. Plenty of earth, even a little funk. A bit of cinnamon and more floral accents after time and air.

Light and airy but filled to the brim with personality and drama. The oak is well integrated and the structure and balance terrific. Easy drinking yes, but far more complex and downright interesting than that. Sophisticated on the tongue with delectable fruit and earth. Minerality and vanilla with a nice dollop of warm spice at the end. This is Pinot done right. — 3 years ago

this was great - i tend to roll the dice with wines from Uruguay w/mixed results but this over achieved: deep ruby opaque wafting impressive black & red fruit, deep rich generous, along with typical CF medley of cracked pepper, herbaceous, and some bell pepper notes. 80% Tannat, 12% Marselan, 4% Cabernet Franc, 4% Petit Verdot. A thoughtful estate blend from Uruguay’s flagship winery, Garzón, showcasing both structure and elegance.

Aromas & Flavors:
Dark plum, blackberry compote, and cassis with hints of cocoa, dried herbs, and a whisper of violet. The supporting grapes add depth: Marselan contributes juiciness, Cabernet Franc adds lift, and Petit Verdot layers in spice and grip.

Mouthfeel:
Concentrated and structured with firm tannins yet polished texture. Balanced acidity frames the fruit, giving the wine freshness alongside its power.

Very nice earth and vegetation undertones. Some dried fruit flavors as well. The wine really opened up after sitting in the decanter for probably 30 to 45 minutes. Then there was some flavors of strawberry and other fruits. This went well with our one day late Mother’s Day, dinner at Las Brisas. — 3 years ago
