Great wine combining southern burgundy richness, use of luxurious oak, great acidity and low alc levels. Wonder how this ages.. Tx @Jan A for pointing this one out!. — 6 months ago
Bright cherry nose
A well crafted wine, this has a medium to bigger body, sea salted cherry, oregano, pomegranate seed, orange zest, berry stem.
The tannins are gripping yet subdued by the wines character, and persimmon acidity.
An excellent and contemplative tipple.

Served double blind, the color was a brilliant, deep gold color and the bouquet was a touch wild with dried stone fruits and toasted almonds. On the palate, this came across quite fresh…and tropical! The predominate fruit character reminded me of dragon fruit a touch of lemon and an undeniable maritime influence in the form of ocean spray. The finish is bone dry and there is generous acidity. I actually found this to be even somewhat tannic? I figured there was a non-interventionalist approach to the winemaking. Regardless, I loved whatever this was despite really struggling to place it. Clearly, this was made in a more oxidative style but it didn’t really strike me as a Rioja. When this was revealed, I got really excited. I had never tried one of Luis Seabra’s wines before and now everything made sense. What a treat. Need more of this in my life! 100% Listán Blanco from vines over a century old. — 6 years ago

Incredible perfume - violet, rosemary and thyme. Fabulous length as well. Seriously good. — 2 months ago
Clear, medium ruby in color; on the nose, it's clean with pronounced primary and secondary aromas of dried figs, black cherries, and cedar; on the palate, it's dry with high acidity, high tannins, high alcohol, full body, and pronounced primary and secondary flavors of roasted tomatoes, strawberry sauce, black pepper, and wet gravel with a long finish. This wine is balanced and complex. Overall, I rate this wine as outstanding. It definitely benefited from being in the fridge overnight. — 5 months ago
This young Rioja is surprisingly very approachable.
Dark purple in color with a purple rim.
Full bodied, smooth and elegant, with medium acidity.
Dry and fruit forward with nice complexity.
Showing black currants, plums, tobacco, licorice, light oak, spices, chocolates, coffee and peppercorn.
Medium minus on the finish with fine grained tannins and tangy raspberries.
Would be nice to revisit it in 3 years.
Tangy and good by itself or with food.
14% alcohol by volume.

About $120. Balanced and easy to drink. Not too light but also not a fruit bomb. Right down the middle. Refined wine. — 5 years ago
What a terrific white Rioja this is! Bottled by Morrisons and produced by Baron de Ley, though I strongly suspect this is the ‘Tres Viñas’ Reserva that they themselves bottle.
Aromas of nectarine, honey, caramel and vanilla. There is an element of petrichor / wet gravel on the palate that adds a refreshing quality. Medium acidity. Very full bodied, but not rich - has a strong minerality. Incredibly well balanced and long. — 6 years ago
Intensidad media. Boca gustosa, elegante, buena y equilibrada acidez, trago largo, mineral, con recuerdos a suelos calizo-arcillosos. — 6 years ago
Kurt rec. would get again. Fuller bodied but still bright. Not the best but a nice repeat. Especially summer. — 3 months ago
Deep ruby-purple color.
Aromas of baked cherry/raspberry, cinnamon, vanilla.
Dry. Flavors of baked cherry/raspberry, vanilla, cinnamon, dried thyme, subtle floral. Rich, chewy tannins.

For $38 this wine absolutely crushed it. I could drink this one everyday so luxurious, full and complex. DM if interested! — 7 days ago
