“Piss” yellow color. Faint bubbles of effervescence. Burnt salted caramel nose. Candied lemon/lime. Distinctly front- and mid-palette loaded. Lemon curd. Very long finish. Excellent freshness for a 10 year old. Quite good, though Aubert is comparable with half the age. — 18 days ago
A blend of Tempranillo with 10% Mazuelo and Graciano, with aging, 50% in new French oak. Deep Ruby with ripe red and black fruit aromas and toasty spice. The palate shows plum and blackberry flavors with smoke, cacao and spice. Vivid acidity, firm ripe tannins, integrated lending to a medium+ finish ending with some earthy notes. Just starting to drink well, a few more years will benefit. Nice value for a Gran Reserva. — 13 days ago
Deep ruby leaning garnet. Opens with a distinct and off-putting barnyard funk. Left to relax, red cherry emerges with charred wood, earth, and raw beef (although to be transparent, I was shaping and grilling fatty hamburgers). Aroma intensity is medium plus, and they are still developing as I detect chocolate starting to peek through. On the palate we have slightly less intense flavors of dried red fruit (cranberry and cherry), flint, are earth. Alcohol is a highish hot 14 ABV, medium acidity, medium plus bodied, medium plus tannins. The finish is medium (only)..I have had this several times. I am left wondering whether or not age will continue to deliver a benefit. Structurally, it should certainly stand up over time. Yet, much of the primary fruit has transformed already. So, buy 2. Drink 1 now, and age 1 for two more years, and see if your get leather and chocolate.

A blend of 68% Cab Sauv, 20% Merlot, 10% Petit Verdot and 2% Cab Franc, dark Ruby with aromas of ripe dark red fruits, cigar-box spice, floral and cedar notes. On the palate flavors of blackberry and black cherry with notes of licorice, pepper, vanilla and toasty spice. Fine tannins, integrating well with oak, good overall balance, long finish ending with fruit, floral and sweet oak. Great now, still has long aging potential left! — 20 days ago
