Popped and poured; enjoyed over the course of several hours. The 2018 “Il Rosso delle Donne” pours a garnet color color with a transparent core; medium viscosity with no staining of the tears. On the nose, the wine is developing with gorgeous notes of fresh raspberry, strawberry, mustard seed, fennel, horse blanket, a touch of truffle, dried green herbs, a mix of organic and inorganic earth and minerals. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium+ tannin and high acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is medium+. Giving Pommard vibes…in the best of ways. Nose is cherry flower, as this opens some savoriness. Some old Nebbiolo character. Some sweet wood.

Palate is a bit tight. Super elegant cherries. Some bitterness. Very silky. As this opens more sweet cherry fruit. Elegant richness.

Beautiful bottle of 1993 Conti! Still carrying fruit and is peppy!! Aged in great conditions so she is elegant, aged red fruits, earthy with light raisins. This wine has solid tannins and acidity but I would drink now. She’s likely a bit past her prime but still a great wine!! Enjoy!! — 8 days ago

ask the wine guy for something unusual, something off the beaten path and he recommends this delicious dry 100% Palomino w/some bottle age: definitely a food wine, light greenish straw color w/fairly austere nose full of minerals, lanolin, herbaceous musk, white flowers (jasmine), ginger & some spices. on palate it is rigid & angular, zesty acidity, some citrus but mostly minerals & herbs, quinine, screams for briny foods - we had this w/deli section fare & salad. — 10 months ago

Nebbiolo, Croatina and Vespolina. Beautifully pure red and dried cherry fruit, wet earth and huge volcanic minerality. The palate is sappy, concentrated and intensely tangy, with a surprisingly opulent mid-palate before the wine grips down hard.
