So interesting. Took a while to soften but once it opened up it was super flavorful. Funky and unique. Cherries and raspberries on the nose. More tannic than expected. Strawberries, pomegranate, rose and all spice on the palate. — a month ago

Bright garnet color. Aromas of dark cherry, mushroom, tomato skin with a touch of barnyard funk. Pallet is full of ripe red fruit (cherry, cranberry , raspberry & plum) with notes of mushrooms, baking spices and minerals. A bit of smoke on the finish. Silky tannins. If you are ever unconvinced that Slovakia doesn’t make good wine you need to try is wine from Stekov. Fred 8 Is light bodied wine but finds that balance between complex and easy drinking. I saw another reviewer said Brett on the nose and totally agree it’s a little bit barley wine co- fermented but still super ripe. Popped and poured; enjoyed over the course of several hours. The 2019 pours a deep garnet color with an opaque core; medium viscosity with moderate staining of the tears. On the nose, the wine is developing with notes of tart and ripe red and black fruits: Montmorency cherry, plums, horse barn, purple and red flowers, crushed rocks and minerals. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium- tannin and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is medium and laden with minerals. This is not faking the funk on a nasty dunk. Drink now through 2029. — 10 months ago
